Asbestos is the only known cause of mesothelioma, so it is important to know the products that contain asbestos and we use it commonly. There are many products which we use in our daily life, which may contain asbestos and can make us victim of mesothelioma (as mesothelioma can occur if exposed to it only few time in small quantities, although the risk is proportional to the degree of exposure and duration of exposure to asbestos). To avoid getting exposure to asbestos and the risk of developing mesothelioma, it is very important to know which products contain asbestos that we are using regularly and which are part of our routine life.
The following are some of the commonly used products and items that may contain asbestos in them and we should be careful while using these items:
- boiler insulations, brake linings
- cables and wires, ceramic tiles, ceiling tiles, cement, cement (insulating), cement (refractory), some types of clay, some types of cloths, clutches
- emulsions
- floor tiles, fireproofing sprays
- gaskets of different items, gloves (hand)
- joint compounds
- mastic adhesives, millboard
- packing materials, paints, paper, paper tapes, pipe insulation preformed pipe wrap, plaster acoustical, putty (wall)
- roofing papers, roofing felts, roll board
- spackle.
The above are some of the examples of items that may contain asbestos in them. There are many more items which may contain asbestos in them that are not included here. Exposure to any of the list above may increase the risk of developing mesothelioma in the future (may be several decades later).

Eating, loving, singing and digesting are, in actuality, the four acts of the mirthful opera known as the freshness, and they pass like bubbles of a grit of champagne. Whoever lets them break without having enjoyed them is a entire fool.

Asbestos is the leading cause of mesothelioma cancer and is therefore a risk to work around. This type of cancer has also been reported on individuals who have no asbestos exposure but the occurrence is rare.

I found this interesting article about Mesothelioma Symptoms
The most common symptoms of pleural mesothelioma are difficulty in breathing, chest pain, or both. Occasionally, a patient may not have mesothelioma symptoms at diagnosis. Other less common symptoms include weight loss, fever, night sweats, cough, and a general feeling of not being well. Mesothelioma symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma may include swelling, pain due to accumulation of fluid in the abdomen cavity, weight loss, and a mass in the abdomen. Other mesothelioma symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma may include bowel obstruction, blood clotting abnormalities, anemia (a lowered red blood cell count), and fever.
